media (II)
In a nation of freedom of the press (actually thee’ nation of freedom of the press) the United States should be the world’s model for journalistic honor, integrity, transparency, and responsibility. And while that was closely the case at one point, our overall American media doesn’t even come close to 2nd. place to a 3rd. world shithole banana republic’s state-run mouthpiece. Going to school for “journalism”, and/or getting a big break directly into the field used to be something aspired to by some and looked up to by others. Now? All you need is a laptop with a crowd of “followers”. I mean, with the internet, you can fake “knowledge”, and “fact check” anything. Of course, you also need a very overtly proclaimed political stance. And, that people, is the advantage you must have, the current day’s political fads.
Before internet truly took off, a news source could print/broadcast anything, but they were stuck with it the until the next broadcast, or printed edition. Where they had to wait 24 hours previously, they could now tweak changes in 2.4 seconds. That could be a good thing, that could be a bad thing.
I firmly believe that as good as the internet is equals as bad as internet can be.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, that for so long was only a power arm of J. Edgar Hoover (look that name up for true entertainment) cloaked themselves in purity, only the best of law enforcement integrity, and trust. They still do. Just ask them. Look names up like Richard Jewel, Randy Weaver, Michael Flynn, COINTELPRO, and anyone on the NO FLY LIST. How do they get away with ruining people’s lives? The media, via people’s apathies.
When John Q. Public is accused of anything by any law enforcement agency, that person is ruined, regardless of the truth, or whatever comes out in the end. Others are protected, regardless of the truth, and the vast damage done to others. Ray Epps is an interesting read, as is Whitey Bulger, and Operation Fast and Furious (Barack Obama/Eric Holder, and so many others, such as Jeffrey Epstein (still didn’t kill himself) and any of the numerous people who created, built, fueled and knew about Russiagate.
The media, people. They are not your friends!
Take any case where a white police officer kills black person. ANY CASE. Instant rioting, burning, looting, AND just for added entertainment, all government sanctioned. Not all cops are good. We’ve discussed that here. I do, in fact, believe a very small number of those behind the badge should be allowed to.
But, for a cop that shoots when that shooting is fully justified, if he is white, the dead is black, vilification follows him forever. Your local and national news can supply you with endless sources telling you that bad white cops kill good black people because they are racist, which actually has been so over-, and misused it no longer has any real meaning. Nobody wants to hear the fact far less blacks are killed by police than reported. Why is this? THE ALL-IMPORTANT HEADLINE WHICH SELLS MORE ADVERTISING.
Kinda sad when one of our nation’s most trusted news organization is the National Enquirer because, apparently, the general public has more balls than the puppet media community.
Please Look Up:
Tamir Rice was killed because HE drew a gun on police. Protests, Mom made lots of money, cop’s life ruined, bullshit Citizen’s Review Board enacted, Al Sharpton shows up.
Shane Bartek, Cleveland Police. No riots, no lawsuits, Al Sharpton doesn’t appear at funeral.
Jamieson Ritter, Cleveland Police. No riots, no lawsuits, Al Sharpton doesn’t appear at funeral.
